Baljit Kaur

I was born and raised in Punjab, India and graduated medical school with MBBS degree.  I came to Kansas in 2005 to pursue Masters in Public Health (MPH) and since then Kansas City has been my new hometown. I joined the Department of Preventive Medicine as a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) and after completing my MPH continued working in the department as Research Associate with the Center for American Indian Community Health.  Working with the Center for American Indian Community Health gave me an opportunity to get involved with various projects such as, developing culturally – tailored, “All Nations Breath of Life” quit smoking program for American Indians, barriers and need assessment of Breast and Colon Cancer among American Indians, providing free basic healthcare for American Indians through health screenings and follow-up care. Currently, I’m managing All Nations Breath of Life – Randomized Clinical trial funded by the National Cancer Institute. In my spare time, I enjoy going on long drives, running, hiking, and watching movies.
